IN 30+ YEARS AS A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR...

I've performed on Broadway, off-Broadway, and at regional theaters around the country, in productions of everything from Greek tragedy through Shakespeare, Moliere, GB Shaw, Oscar Wilde, Samuel Beckett, Harold Pinter, Tom Stoppard, David Mamet, Edward Albee and Tony Kushner - to mention a few.

I grew up in New York City and Marin County, CA, and graduated from The Juilliard School in 1983 and subsequently trained at The Barrow Group school with the great Seth Barrish and Lee Brock.

Since 1999 I've been based in San Francisco, where as a Resident Artist of the American Conservatory Theater I've appeared in dozens of productions and taught in ACT's MFA training program.  I've also been heavily involved with the California Shakespeare Theater and BerkeleyRep.

I've worked a bit in film and TV, including Francis Ford Coppola's gothic horror tale Twixt; in my NY days I guest-starred on The Sopranos, and appeared as several lawyers and a doctor on Law & Order.

No matter the material, my goal is always the same: honor the text, be true to the character, and try to keep things simple.
